Liz Collin, multi-Emmy-Award-winning reporter and anchor and current contributor for Alpha News, said the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz campaign is the “most extreme” presidential ticket in the history of the U.S.
Collin (pictured above, right), a Minnesota native, did not speak highly of Walz’s reputation as the state’s governor.
“I am a Minnesota native and it’s very troubling to see what has happened to our state. I set out on a mission several years ago being a member of corporate media to help set the record straight and put some of this work out there,” Collin said on Tuesday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.
“You could see the writing on the wall. [Walz] is a guy that has no national recognition, but it’s hard to find many fans of Tim Walz in this state, it seems. We are always cast as a blue state- we’re certainly purple – or if you look at most of the state, there’s a couple blue specks on it. I think a lot will come out about our governor very soon, and this will be, by far, the most extreme ticket in our nation’s history,” Collin added.
Collin elaborated on Walz’s record as Minnesota’s governor, which included his approval of bills allowing abortion up until birth and transgender surgeries to be performed on minors without parental consent.
In addition, Collin stressed how Walz (pictured above, left) “fanned the flames” of the riots throughout Minnesota following the 2020 death of George Floyd and oversaw approximately $500 million worth of property destroyed as a result of the riots.
“In addition to the riots that we’ve talked about, you have a police force in Minneapolis that’s down 40 percent from what it once was. More crime and mayhem has happened ever since because of that police population being down so much. Let’s not forget, Walz was the one that helped cause all this. He fanned the flames. He hid the truth, and helped to manipulate this message to the public. In 2020 when this happened in May, I think there was a lot of this ‘oust President Trump at all costs’ and [Walz] fell in line with that when this happened on May 25th of 2020,” Collin said.
“Many people believe [Walz] is responsible for destroying the state in so many ways,” Collin added.
In addition to his tenure as governor, Collin also pointed out how Walz’s background beforehand is equally troubling.
“He’s not from Minnesota. He left Nebraska after getting a DUI and being fired from his coaching position in Nebraska. He doesn’t talk about that. He doesn’t talk about why he came to Minnesota in the first place. And he was kicked out of his National Guard unit back then because of this DUI and lied to the police, pretending that he was deaf in one ear. It’s a wild story,” Collin said.
“There’s quite a bit about this guy, but it’s not surprising in the sense that he’s a person that has very thin skin. Reporters don’t ask him any questions. He does very little when it comes to press availability and whatnot. He’s the type of person that if you ask him a hard question at a press conference, and I’ve seen this myself and I know of people who have, his press people will pull the reporter aside and basically get them in line: ‘You’re not allowed to do that.’ That’s what he’s known for,” Collin added.
In regards to the media coverage of Walz moving forward as the presumptive Democratic vice presidential nominee, Collin said that the governor will be “painted” as a “folksy” guy.
“They’re going to try to paint him as this folksy [guy], this is what he tries to come off as: He wears this flannel shirt, and he grew up in a small town, and he knows all about farming. But it’s interesting, when he was in Congress, the Minnesota district that he represented in Congress did not support him at all in his bid to be governor,” Collin explained.
“When people seem to get to know him and the lies catch up to him, people quickly turn,” Collin added.
